Switching from CHIEF to CDS. The British International Freight Association (BIFA) and Agency Sector Management (ASM) welcome the news that HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) has agreed a slight easement in the implementation timetable of CDS that will replace CHIEF, which is the current system used for processing Customs declarations.

Felixstowe port workers to strike for 8 days later this month.  Officials from the port and trade union Unite were unable to reach an agreement in arbitrations meetings on Thursday. The union member voted in favour of industrial action by a majority of 92%, following a pay dispute.

Transit movement changes in GVMS for Common Transit Convention Movements for exports. From 1st August 2022, you can no longer input a transit Movement Reference Number (MRN) in a Goods Movement Reference (GMR) for an outbound transit movement from Great Britain, unless you are an authorised consignor or consignee (ACC).
